Weight Lifting Exercises : Weight Lifting Exercises: EZ-Bar Preacher Curls

What I’ll be demonstrating here is the EZ
bar preacher curl as you see it’s different from the bar bell; it’s has dips in it where
you can place your hands. What you want to do is bring the weight down slowly controlling
the weight and bring it up flexing the biceps; you want to rush as much blood to the biceps
as possible, give it a real pump. You want to keep your elbows in as much as possible;
your arms about shoulder width apart, control the weight throughout the motion; your main
goal here is to complete about eight to ten reps with controlled movement and correct
form, you want to do about three to four sets. Again as you can see I’m controlling the weight
bringing it up flexing the bicep and that’s how you do the EZ bar preacher curl.

  2. hammer curls concentrate the lateral head of the biceps and the standard curls does a bit a both with emphasis on the medial head.. mayb your medial head lacks strenghth?

  4. Freeweight preacher curls do not maximize the complete range of motion. Once your forearms pass 90 degrees, it gets easier because gravity begins to work with you. By the time you get to the top, your biceps aren't working as much, they're just balancing the weight. Using a machine will maintain weight resistance throughout the entire range of motion. The resistance will still be there all the way thru. Using a curl machine will deliver faster results by utilizing full range of motion.

  5. This guy should know not to have your hands turned in-ward while doing curls. Get hammer strength that way but you dont get the full effect of having your palms pointed at the ceiling. Thank you though.

  6. for people saying 'ohhh this excercise doesnt utilise a full range of motion so theres no point to it' are just being silly, he's not saying this is the only bicep excercise you should do, he is just showing you how to do it correctly!

  7. do you go full extension cause i usually cant curl a 20kg on full extension but with a slight bent arm i can do heaps more
