Texas business license holders face ‘serious jeopardy’ after Hurricane Florence
A new report by the Texas Business License Division says that while some business licenses may have been issued, many are still in limbo.
The report says that between February and October of 2018, 6,742 license holders in the state were issued business licenses and another 4,072 were issued temporary licenses for the same period.
The temporary licenses are for up to six months and can be renewed if the business owner does not file a new business license application for a year.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Department for Economic Safety and Research have already said that the temporary licenses were issued to people who could not find a permanent license to operate a business.
The agency has issued more than 5,000 temporary licenses in the past two years.
