Hey guys what’s up this is Matthew with
Iron Orr Fitness Personal Trainers. Today for your Trainer Tip Thursday I’m going
to show you a couple ways to stretch out your hips before your next squat session or a deadlift session. Some of my favorites are 1. the World’s Greatest, which I’m going to demonstrate right now. We’re gonna come up, bring our foot up as high as we
can, outside of our palms reaching up this way, reaching up the other way. We’re obviously gonna do that on both sides. Next is gonna be a hamstring stretch.
My favorite way is to put a band around the foot and pull on your own. You get a
nice stretch in the back of the knee, but don’t hold it here for too long – we want
to dynamically stretch it, pull it a little uncomfortably past you’re
stretching point and then let it go back down. Last one, same as the hamstring we
don’t want to put too much stress on it for too long, but our piriformis right
underneath our glutes – we’re gonna have one knee at 90 and the other crossed over. I’m just gonna lean forward, don’t let your shoulders round or your back cave.
Keep your up back upright we’re just gonna bend forward a couple times like
this five or six times, obviously both legs on that as well. If you have any
other questions on how to stretch or anything like that before a workout, go
ahead and check us out at the gym have a great day guys!
